He was a four-time All Star who received down-ballot MVP votes in three separate seasons. He captured two Silver Sluggers and a Gold Glove (the latter fairly recently in ‘97). He won four World Series titles. His three-year peak from 1995-97 saw him average 7.4 bWAR per season with a 130 OPS+. Chuck Knoblauch was a hell of a ballplayer.

But it’s part of this article. Also, have you ever heard the old phrase “a walk’s as good as a hit?” Of course you have. In reality, this season, a walk is about 61.5 percent as good as a hit. Here’s where this gets wild. In 2025, when Aaron Judge puts the ball in play, it results in a .685 xwOBAcon.

To win the series, the Yanks tuned to Orlando Hernández.

Photo by Dustin Satloff/Getty Images I hate getting shut out. It’s humiliating. And one of my worst baseball fears is being on the wrong end of a no-hitter. For an uncomfortable amount of tonight’s game, both seemed like very real possibilities. Thankfully, the Yankee offense came alive eventually, led by the triumphant return of a key member of the lineup. Meanwhile, Carlos Rodón remained en fuego on the mound.
