Governor Malam Umar Namadi has approved the appointment of Hannafi Yakubu Fagam as the new Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA in Jigawa State. This announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim issued to DAILY POST. Hannafi, a seasoned politician, previously served as the Commissioner for Finance from 2007 to 2011 under Sule Lamido’s administration.

Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has scheduled May 18 and 20, 2025, for the airlift of intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj exercise. This was disclosed by the Director General of the board, Alhaji Umar Labbo, during a meeting with Aminul Hajj and his members held in Dutse. According to him, the first batch of pilgrims will be airlifted on May 18, while the second batch is scheduled for departure on May 20, both from Jigawa to the Holy Land.

The Jigawa State Judiciary has officially launched its newly revised Rules of Court under the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, ACJL, aimed at improving the state’s justice delivery system. The Minority Leader of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Yahaya Zakari Kwarko, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC. Kwarko, who represents Fagam Constituency, made the announcement during Tuesday’s plenary session of the House. He said his decision was driven by what he described as the exemplary leadership style of Governor Umar Namadi.
