The visit, planned for weeks, comes as Beijing faces 145% U.S. duties, while Vietnam is negotiating a reduction of threatened U.S. tariffs of 46% that would otherwise apply in July after a global moratorium expires.

HANOI (Reuters) -Vietnam's Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh, pledged on Thursday to maintain the country's economic growth target of at least 8% for this year, despite the U.S. imposing a hefty 46% tariff on the Southeast Asian nation's exports. The announcement came during an emergency cabinet meeting, which included Trade Minister Nguyen Hong Dien, Central Bank Governor Nguyen Thi Hong, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang, and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung.

By Phuong Nguyen and Khanh Vu HANOI (Reuters) -Chinese online retailer Temu has been told to suspend its operations in Vietnam after it failed to meet an end-November deadline for business registration in the Southeast Asian country, the Vietnamese trade ministry said on Thursday. Temu, owned by Chinese e-commerce giant PDD Holdings, began offering its services in Vietnam in October.
