Maysoon Tumeih, 38 years, was sitting one night in September chatting with her oldest sister, Weam. Their tents were about 100 meters apart in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, where they had both sought shelter with their families after being forcibly displaced. They were remembering their lives before October 2023. Weam told her sister how much she missed her house and her neighborhood in the Beach Refugee Camp and the lovely people there she left behind eight months ago.

Ahmad al-Tahrawi has been working as a volunteer doctor at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the central Gaza city of Deir al-Balah since the current genocidal war began. Gaza’s healthcare system has been under what he calls “unbearable” strain throughout the past 10 months. “The situation gets worse every day,” he said. “One consequence is that we treat the symptoms and not the causes of diseases.

Khalil had no choice but to take down the tent he had assembled in a school. The school is located in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. After claiming that the surrounding area was “safe” during an earlier stage of the current genocidal war, Israel recently ordered its evacuation. As a result, Khalil and 30 members of his extended family had to pack up and leave hastily. It was the 13th occasion in which the family had been uprooted since the war began.

Muhammad Abu Seif rushed to the window as soon as he heard the explosion late on Saturday morning. For a few minutes, he could not see anything. A thick cloud of dust blocked his view. It took Walid Ribhi a long time to find the place where his parents used to live. Everything around it had been obliterated. Walid needed help from neighbors sitting in the rubble of their former homes to locate what he was looking for. The sight was shocking. There was no trace of his parent’s two-story building. All the other houses in the area were gone, too. “It was as if a hurricane hit the area and swallowed up all the buildings,” Walid said.

Take a look at this video to know how brutal the Israeli soldiers while trying to arrest a child. Despite their endless brutality, he could escape from among their hands, thankfully.

Israeli occupation soldiers directly shoot a child who tried to escape from them during his arrest in Hebron. The brutality of the Israeli occupation cannot be justified. https://t.co/S28pdzdafB

https://t.co/R7KM7d1uel It is not easy for anyone to lose their parents. So how about this very young child? He lost his father during the Israeli attacks on Gaza. He missed his father so badly that he uncontrollably sheds tears when he remembers him.

My first article on Al-Jazeera English! "I fear they will target my apartment while we are sleeping, as they did with the al-Wehda street massacre. I don’t fear death itself. But I fear to lose one of my children – or they to lose me.” https://t.co/tAePC1rjic
