The Swiss footwear Bally made fantastic posters from the late 1930s until the 1980s, and you can usually find some good ones—like this charming choice from the mid-60s—on Etsy. This coolly graphic Fritz Von Dallen midcentury bowl also has a matching vase. My friend Jessica over at Drinks With Broads has been checking out vintage cookbooks lately, which has inspired me to do the same. I’d buy this 1965 one for the excellent, very period-specific, cover alone.
Suddenly everywhere: Fisherman sandals

These are always sort of around and are arguably classics, but this season they’re especially popular, which I’m happy about. Here are the best of what I found, starting with these adorable jelly sandals. I like the pattern of the weaving on these, from Madewell. A nice, chunky platform that looks both fun and versatile. Also, I like black and brown together, though I know that’s a controversial stance.

I currently have a few fond—but seemingly unattainable—desires, the strongest of which might be to learn how to dress with color. I’m just not especially good at it, and my efforts to do so more often turn out clownish than chic. This Rachel Comey outfit is a perfect example of what I wish I could do better, and I’m especially enamored of this amazing skirt, which pops like crazy and is such a good shape. And here’s a dress that looks put-together and easy at the same time.

Your (site-wide) discount depends on which Sephora tier you’re at, but everyone gets at the very least 10% off. I’m using this sale as an excuse to stock up on some favorite products, and to try some new ones I’m curious about. For starters, I’m going for Rare Beauty’s soft pinch liquid blush, which blends so naturally and is my new favorite blush. But I’m also digging their very easy to use bronzer stick, and and this great, long-lasting tinted lip oil.
Going green

The shades of green I’m especially liking right now are the same as the green on the trees budding on my block: bright and cheery really optimistic. Also, you might guess that it’s a tough shade to wear, but I’d respectfully submit that you’re wrong: it looks great with khaki, brown, black, and blue, for starters. This cardigan has cool crochet details, and would look great with jeans and a button-down.

How much is too much to pay for a button-down? That was my question after being gifted this frankly perfect shirt, from the NYC-based brand TWP. It is maybe the nicest shirt of its kind I’ve ever owned, expertly cut and made of a much higher-quality cotton than I’m honestly used to. It’s lightweight and crisp and just utterly perfect. Now I really want this excellent striped version too. I think I’d wear it constantly. But my days of spending this much on a top are decidedly in the past.
