SEOUL, Jan. 17 (Yonhap) -- North Korea warned Friday it will "more intensively" exercise the right to self-defense, denouncing South Korea, the United States and Japan for staging combined air drills, involving U.S. B-1B bombers. The North's foreign ministry issued the statement as the three countries held joint trilateral air drills, involving two U.S. B-1B bombers, Wednesday over the Korean Peninsula following North Korea's recent launches of hypersonic and short-range ballistic missiles.

SEOUL, Jan. 13 (Yonhap) -- U.S. President-elect Donald Trump could seek dialogue with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un after his inauguration and may pursue a "small deal" on the North's nuclear program, South Korea's spy agency said Monday. The National Intelligence Service (NIS) made the assessment during a closed-door briefing to lawmakers amid expectations that Trump, who will take office Jan. 20, is likely to want to repeat his summit diplomacy with Kim.
