Welcome back my Newville friends, to more about Kathy Frey and her lovely historic home. Of course, by now most Newvilians know Mrs. Frey lives in one of the oldest homes in Newville, the Laughlin House. Built in 1768, The Frey's are only the third owners outside of the Laughlin Family to lay claim to this beautiful stone home, due to the home being passed down from generation to generation in the Laughlin Family.

Cub Scout Pack #174 held their Blue & Gold Banquet recently to the delight of everyone involved. Although there were no Cub Scouts crossing over to the Boy Scout troop, as part of the banquet, Cub Scouts enjoyed a presentation by Friends of Scouting, as well as watching a fun camp video. It would seem that I am not the only person in the area intrigued by cemeteries. In last week's Exploring Newville Then & Now, I asked that anyone with information about the Newville Cemetery to reach out to me. I strolled through this historic cemetery and was amazed by the amount of old headstones and grave markers. What caught my eye the most was the vast amount of lavish grave markers, monuments, and headstones throughout the cemetery.
