The U.S. Army has awarded Collins Aerospace an $80 million contract to upgrade H-60M Black Hawk avionics, the company announced. The contract includes updating the twin-engine, medium-lift helicopters with the company's modular open systems approach (MOSA)-compliant products, Mosarc. Lockheed Martin's Sikorsky has successfully flown its "rotor blown wing" uncrewed aerial system in both helicopter and fixed-wing flight modes, it announced Monday. The 115-pound twin-prop drone with a 10-foot wingspan takes off and lands like a helicopter from a tail-sitting configuration, transitioning and cruising in forward flight like an airplane. The "rotor blown wing" term stems from the constant airflow from the proprotor wash across the wing, according to the company.

U.S. Space Force's unmanned X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle-7 (OTV-7) has concluded its seventh mission, successfully deorbiting and landing in California, the U.S. Air Force said Friday. The Boeing-built reusable spaceplane program is shrouded in secrecy and was launched in December 2023 on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy Rocket to a highly elliptical orbit. By the time it touched down at Vandenberg Space Force Base at 2:22 a.m. EST, it had remained on-orbit for more than 434 days.
