DiscussionPopulation-based genetic screening and testing programmes can help identify patients at an increased risk of cancer and direct them towards enhanced cancer screening services (eg, mammograms, colonoscopies, ultrasounds, MRI) or other recommendations. However, for these programmes to be successful, patients must be effectively engaged at each step of the programme pathway.
