The Polar Express came out 20 years ago last month. It’s hard to believe that two decades have passed since it hit theaters. I remember watching at the time, not particularly interested in it. More than that, there was a bit of an eerie quality to the whole thing. In the decades since, I’ve become a mother. And now, my two young boys absolutely love it. Seeing it through their eyes has changed my opinion: The Polar Express is a classic. In 1985, Chris Van Allsburg published The Polar Express.

Rep. Nancy Mace‘s (R-SC) resolution requiring members of Congress to use the bathrooms and other single-sex facilities that correspond with their biology caused quite a stir. For months, we heard all about the joy Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) were bringing to the campaign trail. Contrasting their opponents, their ticket represented a less vitriolic approach to politics. Harris-Walz supporters attempted to emulate that. In defeat, the niceness quickly evaporated, revealing bitter leftists who want the other side to suffer.

Or is this about trying to return to a different form of Reaganism or embrace Buchananism, which JD Vance clearly has. I think there is a good opportunity because Trump truly has no values. He loves hawks such as Cotton and Graham but also isolationists such as Vance.

And based on what we've seen, they are collectively unprepared for that. There is much talk about Trumpism and its long-lasting effects. Will it continue on, barely skipping a beat, after Donald Trump's national political career is over? Will it fade away entirely or morph into a 2.0 version that heavily resembles its predecessor?
