The virtual debate was organised as part of the EUact2 project, where, in a relaxed environment, invited guests discussed why the EU remains the best choice in the context of the upcoming European Parliament elections.

The public discussion titled "Youth and Digital Democracy," organized by GLOBSEC as part of the EUact2 project, was held on the 27th of February 2024 in Bratislava, Slovakia. The event was dedicated to exploring the role of young people within the digital space in the context of two upcoming elections in Slovakia – the presidential and the European Parliament elections.

European Democracy Hub
Each year, the European Democracy Hub publishes a review of European democracy support policies. These reviews cover such international and domestic policies at the European Union (EU) level as well as those of individual EU member states and non-EU European countries (specifically Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom).
This year’s review finds that European democracy support lost some of its political momentum in 2023.

This webinar event, “Leading, Negotiating and Disrupting: Women Leaders in Foreign and Security Policy” was co-organised by GLOBSEC’s CEE Her gender equality and female visibility initiative and the Horizon 2020 ENGAGE Project, and was held on 8 November 2023. Guests tuned in to hear about the current role of women in foreign policy, the progress of equal opportunity and women’s empowerment policies, and where further strives must still be made.

Ever since the start of Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 Poland has been a vocal proponent of Western assistance to Ukraine and an unequivocal supporter of the country acquiring the candidate status to join the European Union, which happened in June 2022. The Ukrainian policy was and remains one of the few issues that rises across the deep political divide in today’s Poland.

CommentaryOn July 23rd, the Spaniards voted in snap general elections. The international community closely observed the voting, not only because the far-right party Vox had a real chance to form a governing coalition but also because Madrid holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union. Any revolutionary changes in the federal government could have seriously affected the country's ability to manage its EU presidency effectively. In the end, the bad weather scenario did not materialise.
