Archer Hands, a missing 18-year-old Pelham resident who is austistic, was found on a bus in the Bronx Thursday and is now with police and on the way home to his family. According to a Facebook post by his mother, Cynthia Hands, Archer was “riding a bus when good people realized he needed help” and took him to the police. “I just got a call from a PS in the Bronx,” said Hands in a 8:24 p.m. post in the Parents of Pelham Facebook group.

Krystal Howell, who ran unopposed in November, was sworn into the Village Board of Trustees on Tuesday evening. Village Trustees Hanan Eldahry and Russell Solomon were sworn in for their fourth and third terms, respectively. This was the last swearing-in ceremony at the current Village Hall on Sparks Avenue, as the board will be moving into the new Municipal Center in the new year.

Village of Pelham Manor residents rejected moving their village’s elections to November from March, according to unofficial Westchester Board of Elections results as of 10:45 p.m with all five voting districts reporting. The ballot initiative to shift the Manor election date, called Proposition 3, received 959 “no” votes to 896 “yes” votes, the board of election website said. The result was 52% to 48% against Prop 3, with the referendum losing by 63 votes.

The only local question where any Town of Pelham voters have a choice this election is one about elections. In the Village of Pelham Manor, residents are voting on whether their village’s elections should shift from March to November. The other village and town races on the ballot are not competitive.

Adriana Rugova was promoted to village clerk with a 6-0 vote at the October 8 Village Board of Trustees meeting. Rugova has been acting village clerk since the previous clerk, Sarah LoPuzzo, resigned on July 9. “She’s been doing an amazing job,” said Mayor Mullen. Yamner Jimenez was also promoted to full-time laborer in the town’s Department of Public Works, with another unanimous vote at the meeting.
