The innovative ‘transverse marina’ opens across both sides of the yacht and “introduces a revolutionary concept in maritime architecture”. The marina has two retractable platforms, one portside and one starboard; a bar, lounge, pool and lounge chairs. The expansive platform will be the base for yoga, meditation and the launch pad for electric hydrofoils, water bikes, kayaks and inflatable waterboards.

The Cocos Keeling Islands are made up of 27 islands, only two of the 27 Cocos Keeling Islands are inhabited: West Island and Home Island. West Island is where around 100 people live, and Home Island, the history hub of the archipelago with around 600 residents (mostly Coco Malay). Flights to the Cocos Keeling Islands are so infrequent that the airport, West Island, doubles as a golf course. Neither island has traffic lights or any shopping strips or malls and homes and cars are left unlocked.

Entrepreneur Dany Girgis, who owns the island roughly 1.5 kilometres from the island of Santo, and transformed it into a marine sanctuary, has spent the last year building six new private villas nestled among the gardens. He says the addition of the villas means guests no longer have to only exclusively hire the entire island, although they can still do that too. Girgis was in his mid-20s when he bought the island almost a decade ago.
