Oxylipins make up a class of natural products that are physiologically and pathologically significant. (1) A key structural motif in these molecules is the δ-alkyl-substituted (Z)-homoallylic alcohol (Figure 1). The development of methods that allow for stereo- and enantioselective generation of such structural entities would be greatly important for the syntheses of these bioactive natural products.
