Tilghman Island celebrates opening of Judy Center

Caroline County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Keith Collison faces a second-degree assault charge from a domestic violence incident on Monday involving he and his former wife, according to court documents obtained by The Star Democrat. Court records allege that during an argument, Collison "positioned himself over top of her, face to face" on a bed. After attempting to "kick him off," she "choked Keith with two hands."He then head-butted her, "resulting in a bloodied nose," court records state.
Town Council notes: Bollman honored, Neighborhood Service Center granted funds

EASTON — The Easton Town Council honored resident Roger Bollman on Monday for his many years of service to the town, including for his time on the Tree Board and Historic District Commission. Bollman recently announced his resignation from the Tree Board. He sat on the board for 17 years, during which more than 1,700 trees were planted. Mayor Megan Cook called Bollman a “dedicated servant” and presented him with a proclamation.

EASTON — Town Council members held a heated discussion Monday on a proposed ordinance mandating campaign finance reporting in town elections. Before the opening Pledge of Allegiance and prayer, council President Frank Gunsallus moved to remove the campaign finance law's introduction from Monday's meeting agenda. At Easton YMCA, community fights Parkinson's and builds a family

EASTON — Two years ago, Roy Weedon was diagnosed with a severe form of Parkinson's, a progressive neurological disease that often causes tremors and slowed movement. Roy's wife, Zoulika, said the decline in his health was clear. But while there is no cure, the couple learned exercise is often recommended to prevent symptoms from accelerating. So Roy, now 80, began taking exercise classes at the Easton YMCA dedicated for those with Parkinson's or related diseases.

EASTON — Since becoming Talbot County’s health officer, Fahmi Fahmi is focusing on listening first. “I get to learn from different points of views, different intakes that can make my decision a little bit more refined,” he said. Fahmi assumed the leadership role at the Talbot County Health Department last month, succeeding Maria Maguire, who stepped down in October.
