With 60% of Oregon designated as public land, a trip to the Beaver State is ideal for nature lovers, who can explore everywhere from high desert climates in the east to verdant forests through the Cascade Range to rugged Pacific coastline in the west. For less outdoorsy travelers, it's also home to charming small towns, decadent wine and cheese country, and points of historical and cultural interest.

On October 22, 2023, I gathered with about a dozen hikers at Baskin Creek Trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our group planned to hike a little over 10 miles to the end of Grapeyard Ridge Trail in the Greenbrier area. Among our crew were Elizabeth Claire “E. With kids out of school and several long holiday weekends—Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day—summer is a popular time for travel. In fact, nearly half of Americans typically plan for summer travel that requires an airline ticket or overnight lodging. However, the prime travel season can also mean more crowds and higher prices. With my first full year of freelancing now under my belt, I'm kicking off 2021 by focusing on getting some retirement planning going again. Gotta say, I'm a little obsessed with @Wealthfront. Took me maybe 15 minutes to get everything set up. #adulting

It would be really nice if we could fix our health insurance problem. Not looking forward to paying hundreds each month for my 2021 plan that has such a high deductible it's basically too expensive to use anyway. #FreelanceProblems
