There's no doubt Lamar Jackson’s case for a second straight NFL MVP award took a hit Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sure it stings seeing him in Vikings colors and no it was not at all a surprise to see Minnesota sign him after the Packers surprisingly released him. Jones helped make the offense go last season and seeing the team let him walk after such a strong postseason showing especially hurt.

The offense had grown stale, the defense was stuck in neutral, and there was just a scent of blandness around the entire franchise. They looked like a fish out of water, a team that looked old in comparison to the rest of the league. To LaFleur’s credit, he brought the offense up to modern standards pretty quickly even with a caveat.
