There's no doubt Lamar Jackson’s case for a second straight NFL MVP award took a hit Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. While his sub-50% completion percentage definitely knocked him out of the runaway category for MVP, the good news is he's still very much in the race and now has more competition from players like Buffalo’s Josh Allen, Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts, and others.

Sure it stings seeing him in Vikings colors and no it was not at all a surprise to see Minnesota sign him after the Packers surprisingly released him. Jones helped make the offense go last season and seeing the team let him walk after such a strong postseason showing especially hurt.

The offense had grown stale, the defense was stuck in neutral, and there was just a scent of blandness around the entire franchise. They looked like a fish out of water, a team that looked old in comparison to the rest of the league. To LaFleur’s credit, he brought the offense up to modern standards pretty quickly even with a caveat.
