The introduction of the OECD’s Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) Model Rules in 2021, the so-called Pillar Two, represents the beginning of a new era for corporate taxation. Pillar Two rules apply to multinational enterprises (MNEs) with annual consolidated revenue of EUR 750 million and provide a coordinated system of interlocked rules through which a top-up tax should be collected each time that the effective tax rate (ETR) of a MNE in a given jurisdiction is below 15%.

The deadline remains unchanged for groups which intend to prepay. This is a welcome extension for many groups that are still in the process of gathering the required information.
