In its Third Quarter Fiscal 2025 report, Cal-Maine Foods shared it is acquiring Echo Lake Foods, a breakfast foods manufacturer, for around $258 million. Echo Lake Foods was founded in 1941 and acquired by the Meinerz family in 1981. Based in Burlington, WI, the company produces, packages, markets, and distributes ready-to-eat egg products and breakfast foods, including waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, frozen cooked omelets, egg patties, toast, and diced eggs.

Cabot Butter has been recalled due to an elevated level of coliform bacteria. Agri-Mark Inc., of Waitsfield, VT, has recalled 189 cases (1,701 lb) of Cabot Creamery 8-oz premium butter made with sea salt, the US Food and Drug Administration stated in a notice. The recall was due to finished product testing revealing an elevated level of coliform bacteria (a type of bacteria found in fecal matter).
