I don’t have any closet progress to show today because, again, yesterday was a holiday in the U.S., and I took the day off. But now that the long three-day holiday weekend is over, I’ll get back to building the walk-in closet island today. But in the meantime, I want to ask that you participate in this thought experiment. I’m asking for your feedback on this simply out of sheer curiosity and not in an effort to shame anyone or anything like that.

Well, I didn’t get a single thing done in my walk-in closet this weekend. It’s a holiday weekend here in the U.S., and for a change, I put absolutely no pressure on myself to get things done, and I did so with zero guilt. I spent my weekend sitting at my desk in the studio (my favorite place in our house) updating the house tour page on my blog. So if you want see all of the befores and afters of every room in our house in one place, or get paint color info, you can check out that page.

I started out working on smaller projects for the walk-in closet yesterday, but about 5:30, I decided that I’d much rather start building the island. So I headed to Home Depot to pick up everything I needed for that project. Needless to say, once I got home with all of those supplies, I didn’t have much time to work, but my main goal was to get the basic box built, attach the feet, and put it into place so that I could get an idea of what this room will look like with an island.

I had an unexpected thing happen on Facebook a few days ago. Some of you may not know that I have an Addicted 2 Decorating Facebook page where I mostly just share my latest blog posts, but I also try to add a few additional posts throughout the week. It may be a throwback to an old project, a random picture of a room in our home, or something else.

Are y’all as tired of this walk-in closet project as I am? I’m so proud of how this closet is turning out, but at the same time, I’m so ready to be done with it and move on. Doing a project of this scale by myself always takes longer than I think it’s going to take at the outset, and I always find myself getting frustrated and anxious to move on when I start to see the finish line. And that’s where I am today.
