TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - An East Toledo family was forced to sleep on air mattresses and was displaced after their home caught fire. They lost more than their possessions, they lost their pets too. Now, they are getting a helping hand. An East Toledo family is trying to recover from a devastating fire that happened in June on Berry Street. “Our dogs were in the yard under a sheet,” Brandy Hopper said. The Hopper family believes the house was broken into.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A little girl in a big battle with brain cancer, Three-year-old Hazel Brown has been traveling to Michigan for treatment and soon will be heading to Seattle for a clinical trial. Through it all, her parents have been relying on their faith and community support, now, 13 Action News and the Yark Automotive Group are giving them a helping hand.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - She knows what it is like to live on the streets and she created an organization to reach back and help others who are struggling in Toledo. Now, she is receiving a helping hand from 13 Action News and the Yark Automotive Group. Elesondra DeRomano is receiving a helping hand for her work helping those who are struggling in the community. No one deserves to be left out in the cold, that is why DeRomano handed out supplies to help the homeless in the snow in February.
