I have been producing projects with director Dylan Sires since 2017. Our previous true crime docuseries, Taken Together: Who Killed Lyric and Elizabeth? (2024), took seven years to complete before it was sold to Warner Brothers Discovery at the end of 2021. I was also a producer of the Discovery ID series Queen of Meth (2021) and the showrunner of The Last American Gay Bar (2024) on OUTtv.

When I met him, he was semi-retired from acting professionally. In the late 1990s, he was the “Built Ford Tough” voice. He was the spokesperson for the Rocky Mountain News.

Des Moines Forgotten 2/5/2025I was in Memphis between Christmas and New Years for the very first time, and I fell in love with the city. It didn’t feel much bigger than Des Moines, and the current music scene had it going on. As far as historical landmarks, I was able to visit both Sun and Stax Records (Stax > Sun), Beale Street and simply embrace the vibes.

I wrote about the first and only “death by elevator” event in Iowa history, which I learned about while on the tour when it was by Fourth Street and Court Avenue. About 45 minutes earlier, we were crossing onto Court Avenue by Water Street.

Des Moines Forgotten 7/31/2024I recently participated in an architecture walking tour of downtown Des Moines. I went with my mother and a handful of her friends for the southern tour of downtown that goes from the Civic Center to the World Food Prize and then makes its way around Court Avenue until it ends at the Kirkwood.
