INTRODUCTION In recent decades, there has been a gradual shift away from the “one-home, one-tooth-brush” model of parenting after parental separation towards shared residence where children spend equal (or near-equal) time with each parent. In the Nordic countries, this shift has been particularly salient, driven by societal changes encouraging gender equality (Rønsen & Kitterød, 2015).
