Freediving locations are becoming more abundant as the sport’s popularity grows. On the other hand, the deeper you start to dive (50m / 164ft and more), the fewer spots you have to choose from. There’s a good reason for this: deeper dives come with more serious considerations. Calmer waters with fewer waves and currents make safety considerations like access to emergency and deco O2 and distance from hospitals and hyperbaric chambers non-negotiable.
