J.J. McCarthy, QB, Minnesota Vikings4 of 7 We're looking forward to seeing Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy in training camp because we didn't get to see much of him at all last year. The 2024 first-round pick out of Michigan appeared to be battling for the starting job when a preseason knee injury ended his rookie campaign. Fortunately, McCarthy appeared to be close to 100 percent during minicamp and even impressed his future top target with his arm strength.

While things are typically quiet at this point in the NFL offseason, player movement doesn't end with the draft in April. A significant, albeit slower, wave of free agency unfolds after the draft and can yield some significant additions. On Wednesday, for example, the Baltimore Ravens signed two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander, whom the Green Bay Packers released on June 9.

The Eagles are the defending Super Bowl champions and have done an incredible job of drafting and developing talent in recent years. Therefore, they head toward training camp with few real needs on the roster. Philly's biggest priority should be adapting to the departure of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Two years ago, the Eagles lost their offensive and defensive coordinators in the same offseason and struggled to maintain continuity.

With mandatory minicamps wrapping up around the NFL, the 2025 offseason is largely over. Players and coaches will still be putting in work, but we're not going to see many on-field developments until training camps open in well over a month. Fittingly, one of the most noteworthy moves of the entire offseason came just before minicamps, when the Pittsburgh Steelers finally and officially paired up with 41-year-old future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.
