DETROIT — Coming into Sunday's Week 3 game of the UFL season, Mathew Sexton hadn't caught a pass yet for the San Antonio Brahmas. But for the around 50 friends and family members who attended the game at Ford Field against the Michigan Panthers, they didn't have to wait long to see if Sexton would get an opportunity. Quarterback Kellen Mond found him on the first play for a 9-yard reception and then again later in the drive for four years.

A few area teams have begun to standout already early on in the spring season. Lenawee Christian girls soccer and Onsted baseball are a couple who had big weeks this week and look like they're in store for special seasons. BASEBALLXavier Gibbs tossed a five-inning no-hitter to open LCAA play as Onsted beat Hillsdale, 10-0, with Gibbs allowing three walks while striking out eight. JT Hill and Lucas Arnold each hit triples in the win. The Wildcats won Game 2, 19-2.

Tecumseh grad Sam Benschoter gets his 3rd win of the season for Triple-A Louisville. He did give up the lead, but gave up 1 run, on 3 hits and no walks while striking out 3 in 2 innings against the Iowa Cubs. He has 3.32 ERA

Tecumseh boys golf finishes 17th in D2 with a 2-day total of 677. Grant Simpson took 28th with a 2-day mark of 155. Adrian took 15th with a 667. Cayden Staib took 19th with a 2-day score of 152
