Over 19,000 people made up the "C of Red" inside Scotiabank Saddledome on May 26, 2022. The Calgary Flames were looking to keep their postseason hopes alive against their rival, the Edmonton Oilers, in a crucial Game 5 of Round 2 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In the net for the Flames was Jacob Markstrom. As overtime began, "Let's Go Flames" chants echoed throughout the arena. Multiple lineup changes will be made for the New Jersey Devils' 2024-25 regular-season finale against the Detroit Red Wings at Prudential Center. Head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed during his media availability that many of his usual starters, including Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, Luke Hughes, Brett Pesce, and Jacob Markstrom, will get the night off. "It is a long list," Keefe said. "We will have 10 guys out. It is a different type of lineup. It feels sort of like preseason.

Timo Meier had one goal and two assists, and the New Jersey Devils jumped back into the win column with a 5-4 overtime win against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Tuesday. Nico Hischier and Luke Hughes had two assists for the Devils. Jake Allen made 20 saves on 24 shots. Meier gave the Devils a 1-0 lead at 7:25 of the first period on a slap shot from the circle. Defensemen Brett Pesce and Hughes were credited with the assists. Morgan Geekie tied it 1-1 for Boston at 8:43.

After being acquired by the New Jersey Devils from the Boston Bruins at the NHL Trade Deadline, Marc McLaughlin will make his Devils debut at TD Garden, where he made his NHL debut in 2022. Per the team's morning skate, he will start the game with Nolan Foote and Nathan Bastian. The former Bruins forward debuted at TD Garden against New Jersey on March 31, 2022, and scored his team's seventh goal in their 8-1 victory over the Devils.
