After 82 regular-season and five postseason games, one word has been repeatedly used to describe the New Jersey Devils in 2024-25. Veteran forward Erik Haula was the first to make this assessment during player exit interviews. "If we are being honest here, as a team, as an organization, we just had an average year," he said. "Making the playoffs should be expected for our group. Losing the first round in five (games) is not what we want.

The New Jersey Devils' injury report expanded on Monday afternoon. The organization announced that defenseman Luke Hughes recently underwent successful shoulder surgery, which was performed by Dr. Peter Millett at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. AdvertisementIt marked the second time Hughes has sustained a shoulder injury. He dealt with a left shoulder injury in September during off-season training that did not require surgery but forced him to miss the start of the 2024-25 season.

The #NJDevils re-signed forward Nathan Légaré to a one-year, two-way contract. The contract details are as follows for 2025-26: $775,000 at the NHL level and $125,000 ($140,000 guaranteed) at the American Hockey League (AHL) level. I really like Légaré. This is a good move.

RT @NJDevils: We had a surprise, but uh…Fitzy beat us to it. So, surprise? Welcome to Jersey, Lenni. 📰: https://t.co/2h2rAG9QiI https://t…

#NJDevils GM Tom Fitzgerald did not give an update on an extension for Luke Hughes. I have been in contact with Luke's agent for the past few months. As of late last week, there was nothing to report.
