Rattlesnakes are one of the most iconic groups of North American snakes due to the characteristic “rattle” found at the tip of their tails. Did you ever wonder what makes that rattle sound? A rattlesnake’s rattle is composed of a series of interlocking scales, which the snake adds to each time it molts. Muscle contractions cause the scales to click together, resulting in a rattling sound.

In December, LG featured the Red Wolf, the most endangered wolf in the world, as the fourth animal in the campaign series with NWF. Experience the red wolf in stunning 3D anamorphic display on LG’s Times Square billboard in New York City, available through February.

The People's Republic of China (PRC) this year marked its 75th anniversary. In contrast to the grand celebrations five years ago, which featured military parades and elaborate festivities, the official observance on October 1 was relatively low-key. The events included routine receptions, such as the Honor Awarding Reception and a gathering to celebrate the PRC's founding, during which President Xi Jinping delivered a brief speech.

On 27 September, in a nail-biting finish, Shigeru Ishiba won Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party’s presidency, defeating his nearest rival, Sanae Takaichi, in a run-off as there was no clear winner in the first round with nine candidates racing. Ishiba is sure to be designated Japan’s new prime minister on 1 October, as the LDP holds a majority in the Diet, Japan’s parliament.

This week, during Climate Week, LG Electronics unveiled the Galápagos Sea Lion, a marine mammal at increased risk due to plastic pollutants. The Galápagos Sea Lion is the third animal featured in its 3D anamorphic experience on its Times Square billboard in New York City.
