First responders witness traumatic incidents on a regular basis, and while they're trained to help the community, now there's a team that's trained to help them in return. Every day across New York, 911 dispatchers pick up the phone not knowing who or what emergency will be on the other end.

In 2022, there were more than 5,000 overdose deaths in New York state involving opioids, according to the New York State Department of Health. Naloxone can be an important tool in saving someone's life, but some don't have access to it or don't know how to use it.
