The impending sale of Newfoundland-based Pennecon will not affect the transportation of the wind turbines set to be installed in Eastern Kings this summer according to project manager Spencer Long with the PEI Energy Corporation. Jase MacPherson was looking up the ice from his net at the Bell Aliant Centre in Charlottetown watching as his team, the Kensington Wild, scored an empty net goal to put them up 4-2 in Game 5 of the New Brunswick-Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League PEI division finals with just over a minute to go. As the clock ticked away, the Montague native started to realize his team was going to win the PEI championship over the Charlottetown Knights in his first season with the Wild.

The Town of Three Rivers unanimously passed a budget of $4.6 million last week and there will not be any changes in tax rates for the upcoming year for the first time since 2021. With revenue of $4.46 million, there was a deficit of $133,796, which was covered by a cash surplus from previous years. The town has budgeted $361,850 on capital budget projects, which include phase two of the Brudenell extension, a utility generator for Georgetown and the Cardigan Fire Hall expansion.
