Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte have a history together. It started in 2011 when the latter became the crew chief for the former. In their first season together, Earnhardt didn’t score any victories but did record a dozen top-10 results and, more importantly, finished seventh in the points standings, which was a dramatic improvement from the year before when he finished 21st.
