In a somewhat confusing fashion, the NHL revealed it’s lottery picks for the 2025 Draft live on ESPN this evening. The Red Wings will have the 13th pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. The odds were not in Detroit’s favor, obviously. Here were their chances via Tankathon:Pick no. 2: 5.1% chancePick no. 3: 0.1% chancePick no. 4: 0.1% chancePick no. 12: 85.7% chancePick no. 13: 8.9% chancePick no. 14: 0.2% chanceDetroit basically had zero chance at getting pick no. 1.

Happy NHL Draft Lottery day to all who celebrate! (getting sick of saying this)Tonight, we’ll find out the draft order for picks 1-15. ESPN will broadcast the lottery at 7 PM ET, and it will be a LIVE drawing this time around. What that means is instead of watching a countdown from 16 to 1 after the lottery balls are drawn behind the curtains, we’ll watch live as the lottery balls are drawn.

Red Wings RumblingsHopefully the dust has settled among Red Wings fans after Steve Yzerman and Todd McLellan’s season-ending press conference earlier this week. You know my rule — no fan policing. If you’re pissed off and seeing red (not in a good way), I understand. I’ll remind you that it’s going to be a long offseason with a lot on the table. Max Bultman recently had an article published where he looked at who would be returning next year, and who may not be back.

Hey there, gang! Long time no see. It’s been quiet around here recently and I wish I could say that will change soon, but that’s how this part of the offseason goes! Let’s get caught up. Cool news for one of Detroit’s brightest young defensemen — Simon Edvinsson will compete with Team Sweden in the upcoming Men’s IIHF World Championship. This will be Edvinsson’s first time appearing at this level, so kudos to him! Well deserved, and hopefully will get him the recognition he deserves.

Hearing #Isles also made a big change on the broadcast side: Longtime radio voices Chris King and @GregPickerHere were let go. Team may not have a radio broadcast going forward. No two people more devoted to the team than Kinger and Greg.
