Summer has officially arrived, and the heat is on. We reached 90° today in Indy for the first time this year. This is just the start of a prolonged heat wave. A Heat Advisory is in effect through at least Tuesday. The tropical humidity levels are only adding to the seriousness of the heat. Afternoon feels like temperatures will likely top out around 105° the next few days. Be sure to take breaks in the AC when you can and drink plenty of water.

We're enjoying some less humid and calmer weather today. A few showers are possible through early this evening. If you're heading to a watch party for Game 6 of the NBA Finals, you might want to take the umbrella just in case. Skies stay mostly clear tonight with lows in the middle 60s. Our Friday forecast starts with lots of sunshine, but we'll notice clouds increasing through the afternoon. Temperatures will be seasonable with highs in the middle 80s.

The clouds have been hanging tough today, but overall not a bad Father's Day for outdoor plans. We still can't rule out an isolated shower or storm popping up this evening. We stay mostly cloudy tonight with lows in the mid 60s. Our weather doesn't change much to start the week. We are likely to stay with mostly cloudy skies throughout our Monday. There is the chance for an isolated shower or storm. The most likely timing would be Monday evening.

Getting in those outdoor activities has been a challenge for some today. Areas of rain and storms have formed along and south of a stationary front. This is mainly along and south of a Terre Haute to Indy to Muncie line. This is also where a Flood WATCH is in effect until 10pm. Locally heavy rainfall could top 2" in some areas. The good news is we expect rain coverage to decrease pretty quickly this evening. Skies stay mostly cloudy tonight with lows in the middle 60s.

We have entered a more unsettled weather pattern. That does mean we can't rule out some scattered showers and storms this evening. We don't expect widespread rain, but with many events planned, make sure you have the umbrella. Temperatures stay very mild with numbers still in the 70s at 11pm. Saturday brings our best chance of rain and storms this weekend. If you have outdoor activities scheduled, you might want to have an indoor backup plan.
