    No matter what the chances of rain were in the forecast Saturday, members of the community still gathered at History Park to honor Vietnam Veterans with the Vietnam War Veterans Day ceremony. The ceremony is put on every year in honor of National Vietnam War Veterans Day by the Tullahoma chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), the American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary, the City of Tullahoma and the Tullahoma Parks and Recreation department.

    The Tullahoma Fire Department got a unique opportunity this past Saturday where they traveled to Bridgestone Arena in Nashville to present the colors for the Nashville Predators. Members of the fire department’s color guard received an invite by the Predators, who reached out to the city administration, to present at a game. The fire department were able to arrange a color guard consisting of Craig Stroop, Zach Smith, Jasen Damron and Greg Griffin.

Horse Play, Inc., located in Tullahoma, offers recreational and therapeutic riding opportunities to children with physical, mental, developmental, and emotional challenges in Coffee, Franklin, Bedford, and Lincoln counties.

    It was a full house Tuesday evening as the Tullahoma City Schools (TCS) Board of Education, along with family, friends and colleagues, celebrated and recognized a dozen teachers, principals and supervisors as Teachers, Principal and Supervisor of the Year. TCS Board Chairman Kim Uselton welcomed the packed room to the first school board meeting of 2025 and said there many great things to celebrate that evening.

    The Tennessee Department of Education highlighted this week the free ACT retake opportunity for public high school seniors in Tennessee to boost their scores on the ACT college entrance exam.   Tennessee was the first state in the nation to offer public high school seniors the opportunity to take the ACT two times for free during normal school hours.
