Hamilton Southeastern has hired Bobby Allen as its next boys basketball coach. Allen went 128-56 in seven seasons as Guerin Catholic coach, leading the Golden Eagles to four sectional titles, three regional championships and a spot in the 2023 3A state finals. “I am truly excited and grateful for the opportunity to be the next boys basketball coach at Hamilton Southeastern, and I’m honored to become a part of the Royals family,” Allen said in a news release.

It was a breakout season for several sophomores in high school basketball. Here are 30 Central Indiana players from the 2027 class who produced for their respective teams this season:Harper Baker-Lands, PlainfieldThe 6-2 guard averaged 15.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game for the 16-8 Quakers. Baker-Lands, who averaged 8.6 points and 3.7 assists as a freshman, shot 36.5% (42-for-115) from the 3-point line. He has early offers from Eastern Illinois and Morehead State.

Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South will join the reconstructed Sagamore Conference starting with the 2026-27 school year. The Terre Haute schools, which have been part of Conference Indiana since 2013, will join current members Lebanon, Danville, Harrison (West Lafayette) and McCutcheon in a six-team league beginning in 2026.

A three-star prospect, Carsen Eloms made 44 tackles and two interceptions as a junior for Fishers. He joins Andrean OL Benjamin Novak and Penn WR Tayshon Bardo as other Indiana recruits to pledge to Wisconsin. Wisconsin is staking its claim to an early football recruiting haul out of Indiana. Carsen Eloms is the latest in-state prospect to jump on board with the Badgers.
