AbstractOver the past decade, there has been an increased awareness of the recognition and treatment of medial meniscus posterior root tears. Recent systematic reviews and meta-analyses have shown that surgical repair of medial meniscus posterior root tears is effective in improving patient-reported outcome measures and decreasing the progression of osteoarthritis when compared with nonoperative treatment or meniscectomy.
