A video posted on NetEase News on Nov. 24, 2023, claimed air and missile attacks between Russia and Israel in Syria led to 32 Russian and 18 Israeli casualties. It said Russia responded to an “accidental” Israeli attack on its bases in Syria and fired cruise missiles from its warship in the Mediterranean. (Context: Russia has had a military presence in Syria since the 1970s.

[English version of this story is available here] 自10月7日巴勒斯坦武裝組織哈馬斯突襲以色列、引發新一輪以巴衝突後，網上流傳大量不實訊息。Annie Lab翻查了幾則在國內外社交媒體找到的可疑帖文。 誤導：滑翔傘影片實攝於在埃及而非以色列 有抖音用戶在10月8日上載一段影片，題為「哈馬斯以滑翔傘的方式降落到以色列」。影片分為兩部分，拍攝地點不同，但均可見有多人在疑似城市建築群上空滑翔。類似帖文也在社交平台X流傳。以上兩個帖子共獲超過13000次分享。 雖然確有報道指哈馬斯利用動力滑翔傘入侵以色列，但Annie Lab調查後發現，上述片段均攝於鄰國埃及，與這一輪以巴衝突無關。 片段的首半部分顯示有人在半空滑翔，而附近有一棟藍色建築物和一棟外觀像教堂的建築物。Annie Lab利用圖片搜尋，再用Google地圖確認位置後，確定片中的教堂為花地瑪聖母主教座堂（St. Fatima Chaldean Basilica），位於埃及首都開羅。我們亦在旅遊網站Trip.com上找到教堂更清晰的圖片。...

A slew of questionable videos of sexual violence have surfaced on social media claiming to be related to the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas that began on Oct. 7. This video posted on X (formerly Twitter) claims to show a large group of “Hamas supporters publicly raping a woman in Iran.”The disturbing video shows a large crowd of men groping and shoving a woman around in public when she was screaming for help.

The Hong Kong government launched its “Night Vibes Hong Kong” campaign on Sept. 14, with a half-hour ceremony officiated by Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po. The fanfare included a number of performances, most notably an LED lion dance show. Following the ceremony, numerous social media posts (here, here and here) said the lion costume used in the performance was white, a color traditionally reserved for “mourning lions” used in funerals to bid farewell to the dead.
