Bill Murray and his band, Bill Murray and His Blood Brothers, enjoyed a post-show gathering at Tom Archer's Poor Man's Country Club in West Des Moines. Tom Archer's Poor Man's Country Club is a supper club with a vintage vibe, offering a full menu and daily specials. After performing at Val Air Ballroom Friday night, Bill Murray and his bandmates slipped away into a "candlelit booth" in the recently opened Tom Archer's Poor Man's Country Club located right under the ballroom in West Des Moines.

Cedrick Charles Thomas Jr. was sentenced to life in prison for the 2022 murder of Charles Russian Lovelady. Thomas maintains his innocence, claiming a co-defendant admitted to the killing. Lovelady's family provided victim impact statements expressing their grief and the impact of his death. A Des Moines man found guilty of first-degree murder was sentenced Friday to life in prison for a 2022 botched robbery that killed a 22-year-old.

An elderly woman with dementia has been reported missing in Johnston. Mary, 82, was last seen near 6800 Trail Ridge in Johnston, according to a news release from Johnston police around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday. She is wearing a beige dress or pajamas and has long gray hair. A group of parents say they're upset that the Perry Community School District seemingly ignored a petition to discuss safety measures at the school district in the wake of the fatal shooting last year. The petition, signed by more than 700 people, asked for preventative safety measures such as secured entryways at each of the district's three schools, weapon/metal detectors at entryways, a no-bag or clear/mesh bag policy on school grounds and police presence on-site during school hours.
