MOUNT VERNON, TX (KTAL/KMSS) – On Thursday, Pleasant Grove faced Panther Creek in game one of its regional semi series. While the game was close for most of the game, the Hawks pulled off the win, 4-0. Tied at zero until the bottom of the fourth with two outs, the Panther Creek pitcher overthrew the catcher, allowing Jace Elrod to get home for the first run on the board. Runs didn’t come in again until the bottom of the sixth, once again with two outs.

After a tough win on Friday night, the Griffins looked to continue that dominance. North DeSoto fell to a two-run deficit early in the game, going down in the second inning off of an RBI single and steal at home. “We knew two runs is not gonna win the ball game,” senior Luke Delafield said.
