It’s a saying that feels as old as the monuments themselves: “Dating in D.C.? Good luck with that.” Insert gingham shirts, “consultant talk,” and being asked: “So, what do you do?” for the millionth time. When Netflix’s “Love Is Blind” came to the District, it seemed to confirm that dating in D.C. does, in fact, suck.Of course the producers were screening contestants through LinkedIn. Of course the cast of 29 people included someone from as far away as Baltimore.

Already, her new heartbreak-steeped album “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” has led Swifties to attempt to connect the album’s lyrics to events in the singer’s personal life — a hunt for literalism that Swift does not exactly discourage.

To the nonobsessed,Taylor Swift’s community of die-hards might appear to be a pretty overwhelming place. The 34-year-old pop star peppers her songs and visuals with “Easter eggs,” as she dubs them, and they are everywhere: in song lyrics and videos, in a pop-up QR code mural that appeared in Chicago this week, in a Spotify-sponsored library installation that went up in Los Angeles.
