Written and directed by French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat, The Substance was nominated in four other categories, including Best Picture, Best Actress for Demi Moore, and two nods for Fargeat for Best Original Screenplay and Best Director.

Nearly 26 years since Takashi Miike‘s Japanese horror cult classic Audition first premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival, Deadline brings word that Danish filmmaker Christian Tafdrup (the original Speak No Evil) is set to direct and co-write a new take on Ryū Murakami’s novel that inspired the 1999 movie. Focus Features, Hyde Park Entertainment, and Mario Kassar Productions are said to be nearing a production deal on the project.
