We profiled metabolite blood levels of 4974 individuals of the GCATcore. The quality control procedure provided a final dataset of 187 metabolites and 3 ratios for subsequent analyses.

In this population-based cohort of adults in Catalonia, a later time of first meal, more daily eating occasions, and a later sleep time were cross-sectionally related to a higher BMI, while a longer nighttime fasting duration was related to a lower BMI. Among women, these results were mostly evident in premenopausal women. In longitudinal analyses, a later time of first meal and a shorter nighttime fasting duration were associated with a higher subsequent BMI.
