    In this article, I will reflect on my own path to acquiring foreign languages and thriving in a multilingual environment. I hope to be helpful to other people who would like to hack their way towards mastering a new language. Let me start with a small disclaimer: all the languages I am familiar with belong to the Indo-European family of languages. That being said, I am sadly not familiar with any non-Indo-European languages, although I would like to become so, at least to a small extent.
