This is a form of diabetes that develops in adulthood, generally over age 30, and slowly worsens over time, similar to type 2 diabetes. Unlike type 2 diabetes, LADA is an autoimmune disease, so it can’t be reversed with changes in diet and lifestyle. Singer Lance Bass revealed in an Instagram reel that his recent diabetes journey comes with a twist.

    In 2020, Lance Bass was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is different from Type 1 diabetes in that you typically develop Type 1 as a child because it’s an autoimmune condition resulting in your pancreas not making enough insulin so you have to give yourself injections to supplement it. With Type 2, your pancreas doesn’t make as much insulin as it used to so your body becomes resistant to it. Type 2 is usually treated with lifestyle changes, like diet and exercise.
