NOTE: This blog will be updated with results from the USA 1 Mile Road Championships and the Grand Blue Mile. The 129th Boston Marathon served up two big memories for two former Iowa State standouts. Minnesota Distance Elite's Annie Frisbie produced the best marathon of her career, finishing eighth in the women's professional field after knocking almost three minutes off her previous best and doing it on a course that can be unforgiving with the Newton Hills after mile 17.

Ainsley Erzen gave Arkansas alum and fourth-place Paris Olympics 800 finisher Shafiqua Maloney all she could handle in the 1,500 meters at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Saturday. Erzen, a former Carlisle High great, was even with Maloney, down the backstretch on the final lap before the runner from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines held off the Arkansas junior to run 4 minutes, 18.27 seconds.

One might say Alli Bookin-Nosbisch really likes the Pepsi Florida Relays. The University of Iowa graduate student, in her final season of eligibility, broke her own school record for the 800 meters in the met at Gainesville on Saturday. The former Ottumwa High prep standout finished fourth overall in 2:02.92 to slice .32 of second off her previous best, set a year ago at this same event.
