After watching his younger siblings manage the pedal-powered, pontoon-outfitted water bicycles effortlessly, Martinez knew hydrobikes would be a hit with riverfront Morgantown’s adventurous residents.

335 High Street may not seem like much from the outside—a stout brick building painted black, with a tucked-away alleyway entrance marked by vibrant posters and a cheery rainbow fence. These pops of color hint at what lies behind its innocuous silver doors: more than 30 years and counting of LGBTQ+ art, joy, and connection. The building’s legacy as a home for Morgantown’s LGBTQ+ community began in the 1990s, when its loyal patrons knew it as The Class Act.

The Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park is world-class impressive: 90,000 square feet. A 50-meter Olympic pool and diving well. A six-lane lap pool. And from June 12 to 15, it will be the temporary home to rising Olympians from all around the world. For the fourth time in three years, the Aquatic Center will host an Olympic qualifying event for USA Diving, the official diving organization for the U.S. Olympic Diving Team.

More than 5,000 locals and out-of-towners alike will be scouring the nooks and crannies of north-central West Virginia for treasure this weekend. They’re not pirates—they’re geocachers, and they’re participating in the country’s largest geocaching event: Wild and Wonderful GeoWoodstock XXI. Geocaching isn’t unlike treasure hunting. After downloading the Geocaching app, players use coordinates, clues, and old-fashioned curiosity to track down hidden containers: geocaches.
