Next month marks 20 years since Navy SEAL Dan Healy of Exeter boarded a MH-47 Chinook helicopter headed for the mountains of eastern Afghanistan and never came home. In the years since he was killed on June 28, 2005, Healy’s community and family have continued to honor his memory. A 5K road race organized each fall by the Dan Healy Foundation starts and finishes by the Exeter recreation pool, which is named after him.

She grew up learning to chop wood, run a chainsaw and repair her family’s lawnmower and snowblower.
