In 16 of the past 22 NCAA Tournaments, at least one No. 13 seed has knocked off a No. 4 seed. It happened again last season when No. 13 Furman toppled No. 4 Virginia in dramatic fashion. With 12 seconds left, the Cavaliers inbounded the ball with a two-point lead. All they had to do was advance the ball and wait to get fouled. But a Paladins trap led to an errant pass. Garrett Hein intercepted, fed JP Pegues, and the sophomore stepped confidently into the game-winning 3-pointer.

For a long time, the madness didn't extend to the No. 16 line. Every No. 1 seed prevailed in this matchup through 2017. Sure, there were big-time scares -- top-seeded Georgetown scraping by Princeton, 50-49, in 1989; Oklahoma outlasting East Tennessee State 72-71 that same season; Michigan State surviving Murray State in overtime the following year -- but no basketball giant had to deal with the embarrassment of getting victimized by a No. 16. O'Donnell (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Titans, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. The Falcons signed O'Donnell to their practice squad Saturday and also elevated him to the active roster ahead of Sunday's contest against the Titans, Scott Bair of the team's official site reports. The Falcons wasted no time elevating O'Donnell with starting punter Bradley Pinion (illness) questionable for Sunday's game. O'Donnell last played for Green Bay in 2022 after eight seasons with the Bears.

O'Donnell was cut by the Packers on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. After eight seasons in Chicago, O'Donnell headed north to Green Bay in 2022. He netted 38.5 yards per punt including 24 located inside the red zone during his one season in green and gold. The veteran was competing against Daniel Whelan for punting duties this year and ultimately came up short. He will now look for a fresh start elsewhere.
