Last Updated: The 2025 Preakness Stakes winner, Journalism, is running in the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. Aron Wellman of Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, co-owners of Journalism, told Gambling.com on Sunday that Journalism is running in the Belmont. This sets up a Saturday, June 7, showdown in the Belmont at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York, between Journalism and the May 3 Kentucky Derby winner, Sovereignty.

With several months to go before the Dec. 1 launch of legal sports betting in Missouri, the first steps have begun to approve the operators wanting to accept wagers statewide. Earlier this month, the Missouri Gaming Commission began making sports betting license applications available to operators. Among those expected to seek licensing are DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook and others. By law, sports betting must begin by Dec. 1.
