From the Hope Village website: “Hope Village is a tiny home village that houses roughly 25-30 men and women in our community.”With an annual budget of $766,457, my calculation of the monthly cost per individual of this housing is $2,129 per month. This is for double occupancy for a “tiny home.” Does this make sense?

What a joke! Police officer to be tried after answering shoplifting call at local store (“Vancouver police officer pleads not guilty to assault,” The Columbian, Aug. 10). I guess she threatened his “jewels.” Suspects were released without charges. Maybe the officer should have given him a hug and made him promise to never ever shoplift again. Modern law enforcement at its finest. What are we coming to?
